The 4.5-inch midrange driver uses our unique double-surface, air-core diaphragm, which practically eliminates cone break-up and the storage of unwanted energy, to provide exceptionally clear response. A short coil/long gap motor system is used for extremely low distortion. Very rigid cast magnesium chassis are used in all THIEL drivers to improve clarity.
The 10-inch woofer employs an extremely rigid aluminum diaphragm to eliminate cone resonances and unwanted energy storage. A special specially shaped magnetic pole further reduces distortion, and heavy copper rings maintain an ultra-stable magnetic field. In conjunction with the bass radiator, which eliminates bass port resonances and noise, the result is remarkably clean bass reproduction.
