Since Bob Carver's entry into the home theater A/V preamp market
years ago with the highly-acclaimed and award winning Sunfire Theater
Grand, Bob and his team have kept busy cooking up new ways to improve
the design. The amazing Theater Grand II and III that followed were
huge successes; the new version IV adds even more features and new
styling.
Like its predecessors, the Theater Grand IV is foremost an audiophile-grade
preamplifier. Bob and his team designed it to produce a warm and
engaging soundstage - both your movie and music soundtracks will
be smooth and dynamic.
The Theater Grand IV adds Dolby® Pro Logic® IIx to its
array of numerous surround modes including Dolby® Digital, Dolby®
Digital EX, DTS®, DTS-ES®, DTS Neo:6®, and user-configurable
all-speaker stereo. It also includes an incredible digital implementation
of Bob's wildly successful Sonic Holography® Imaging, that substantially
adds to the acoustic space of any stereo recording.
The Theater Grand IV's control system takes into consideration
the needs of the modern AV system. New in version IV is video format
conversion that automatically up-converts composite to S-video,
and S-Video to component video to keep you from having to change
inputs on your TV.
The Theater Grand's remote is a powerful preprogrammed and learning
LCD-based design that is easy and intuitive for your family to operate.
The Theater Grand IV includes an RS-232 communication port to allow
easy operation from any custom control system, as well as an IEEE-1394
(Firewire™) port for future expansion.
If your eyes get tired, the Theater Grand also includes an AM/FM
tuner with 40 presets, an 8-channel input for DVD-Audio or SACD,
eight balanced XLR outputs, a Phono stage, and much, much more.
