Radius 90 is a radical departure from most satellite speakers inasmuch as it doesn't look radical. It's a high-class mini monitor, only smaller. In stark contrast to the hard, cold metal appearance of most A/V speaker packages, it has the same sumptuous real wood veneer and lacquer finishes that grace Monitor Audio's reference speakers. The same engineering standards and attention to detail, too, right down to the radiussed corners of the cabinet and high-quality, gold-plated cable terminals.
The R90 is also one of the most remarkable. Its clarity, dynamics and imaging abilities have to be heard to be believed. It can fill a room with high fidelity sound yet, visually, melt into the background. |
It was with this in mind that Monitor Audio designed the high quality die-cast metal wall bracket supplied with each speaker. This has a very shallow profile and holds the R90 close to the wall, but its wide range of movement allows it to be easily directed towards the listening area.

Unique drivers designed and tooled for Radius. The new cast bass-mid chassis is made from high-tech glass loaded engineering polymer that provides better damping than metal and increased overall strength. |
MMP® II. Monitor Audio's second generation Metal Matrix Polymer cone material now uses a high-pressure injection moulding process to achieve different thicknesses at desired points of the cone geometry for greater stiffness and consistency resulting in superior bass and clearer mid-range frequencies. |
1" (25mm) Gold CCAM® tweeter extends to 25kHz |
Magnetically shielded drivers allow Radius to be safely used near sensitive microprocessor equipment or video displays |
High quality crossover uses high grade metalised Polypropylene capacitors for increased clarity. High-grade air core and laminated iron core inductors give lowest possible distortion and low insertion losses. |
Specially developed high grade PCOFC internal cable is used throughout to ensure maximum signal transfer at all frequencies and low signal resistance. |
Single through-bolt driver fixing provides mechanical de-coupling and enhanced mid-band clarity and resolution. The through-bolts also act as rigid cross bracing to give a very solid non-resonant cabinet. |
Rear ported design with rigid MDF construction throughout. |
Smooth radius edges reduce diffraction effects for better imaging |
Video silver lacquer and real wood veneer finishes. . |

Perforated metal grilles supplied in both black and silver to match individual decor or taste. |

Specially designed die-cast metal wall bracket system (supplied) provides 20 degrees of vertical and horizontal pivoting for easy positioning. |

The slightly larger Radius 180 has been designed to be sited vertically or horizontally. Its versatility means it can be used as a centre channel in a multi-channel music or movie system as well as a main, side or rear speaker. And just 95mm deep, it's ideal for use with a Plasma screen or in places where space is at a premium. As with all Radius components, the R180 can be purchased individually for maximum flexibility when system building.
Radius 180 has the same specially designed MMP® II bass-mid driver and Gold Dome C- |

CAM® tweeter as the 90 but these are housed in a larger cabinet with a front-firing reflex port. Its enhanced bass performance makes it an even more suitable choice as a stand alone speaker where a subwoofer isn't required. But combined with the Radius 360 sub, the R180 forms part of a formidably powerful stereo or multi-channel system.
As with the R90, the R180 is supplied with a high quality die-cast metal wall bracket and both black and silver grilles. The real wood veneer and lacquer finishes add to the aesthetic and tactile appeal and are crafted to the same exacting standards as Monitor Audios reference speaker systems.

| The slender Radius 225 is a versatile loudspeaker, which by virtue of its very shallow depth (105mm) is ideal for use with slim video displays or Plasma TVs, as a centre channel of main speaker. The R225 can be used as a main speaker system, providing bass performance right down to 55Hz. Combined with an additional sub-woofer, the R225 forms part of a powerful and versatile audio/video based system. |
The slim wall bracket supplied has a very shallow profile and holds the R225 on the wall to provide a near, unobtrusive appearance. Supplied with full-length oval black, silver or white grilles, the R225 can be customised to match its environment. The R225’s real wood veneer and lacquer finishes and its driver technologies are specified to the same exacting standards as those employed by Monitor Audio’s reference speaker systems.
As with the Larger R250, the R225 is supplied with a quality pressed steel ‘easy fitting’ wall bracket with a very shallow profile and both black and silver oval grilles. The real wood veneer, satin and lacquer finishes add to the aesthetic and tactile appeal and are crafted to the same exacting standards that distinguish all Monitor Audio products.

| Truly unobtrusive high performance home cinema has become a reality with the launch of Monitor Audio’s Radius 250 speaker. Built and engineered to the same meticulous standards as Monitor Audio’s reference speakers, the latest addition to the Radius range is capable of delivering superb, full-range hi-fi sound yet blends into its surroundings with vanishing subtlety that doesn’t devour valuable living space. |

The outstandingly elegant and slender R250 has been designed to be sited vertically or horizontally with larger 42 or 50-inch plasma displays. Its versatility means it can be used as a centre channel in a multi-channel music or movie system as well as a main, side or rear speaker, providing bass performance right down to 50 Hz. And at just 105mm deep, its suitability for plasma screen applications or where space is at a premium is unequivocal. As with all Radius components, the R250 can be purchased individually to maximise system-building options.
The Radius 250 has the same specially designed MMP® II bass-mid drivers and gold dome C-CAM® tweeter as the Radius 225 but these are housed in a larger cabinet with twin front-firing reflex port. Its enhanced bass performance makes it a suitable choice as a stand-alone speaker when a subwoofer isn’t required. Combined with the Radius 360 or 720 sub however, the R250 forms part of a formidably powerful stereo or multi-channel system.
As with the smaller R225, the R250 is supplied with a quality pressed steel ‘easy fitting’ wall bracket with a very shallow profile and both black and silver oval grilles. The real wood veneer, satin and lacquer finishes add to the aesthetic and tactile appeal and are crafted to the same exacting standards that distinguish all Monitor Audio products.
Seriously compact, exquisitely made and completely flexible to user needs, stereo or multi-channel, the Radius 250 is an innovative speaker solution for lovers of high quality sound and design. |
